Assalamu Alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuhu!
The above is the greeting of Islam – May the Peace, Mercy and Blessings of God be upon you dear reader.
Welcome to our blog! The Tooting Sunday Circle has been running since January 2009, alhamdulillah! Almost every Sunday since then, the circle has been a forum for gathering young Muslim women together to discuss matters of life and faith. Whether we’re studying verses from the Qur’an, the life of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him), discussing hadith, or the examples of great personalities, there are always insights that are relevant to our daily lives.
the ‘circles’ are not just about learning and discussion, but they’re also an opportunity to make new friends, to socialise in a relaxed and comfortable environment, to gain valuable skills, and to have fun 🙂 .
Some of our activities and social events include: Eid parties, picnics, regular hikes in the countryside, dinners, heritage tours and museum trips, Qiyam-ul Lails (overnight programme of prayers and talks), charity fundraisers and competitions.
All girls and women of secondary school age and above are very welcome at the circles – we meet on Sunday mornings at 11.10am – 1pm Tooting. It doesn’t matter what your background is, anyone who fits the above category is welcome – we hope you’ll come by! And if you cannot make it to the circles, you can still share in the knowledge posted on the blog by a variety of sisters from the circle.
